Play Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy & Other Modalities with Children & Adolescents

Those who attend this workshop will to be stimulated to think more critically about utilizing various modalities (including play therapy, CBT and mindfulness) with children and adolescents. Participants will receive an overview of the modalities, as well as the impact of the mind/body connection on the therapeutic work. Attendees will also take part in hands-on activities to learn techniques appropriate for rapport building, assessment, and meeting a variety of therapeutic goals.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will understand the basic components of play therapy, CBT and mindfulness for working with children and adolescents.

Participants will receive an overview of the mind-body connection and neurological underpinnings impacting children and adolescents.

Participants will understand how to implement some activities and strategies for assessment, rapport building and other therapeutic goals.
